Real ID and Voter IDThis paragraph from a story about the Real ID bill got me to thinking about Voter ID in Wisconsin (H/T Slashdot):
Gov. Doyle's biggest excuse for not wanting Real ID was that it would disenfranchise older voters who often times don't have ID's. Sounds like in 3 years this won't be a problem then, since they'll have to have one any way to collect their Social Security. Same for the homeless since you have to have an ID in order to collect a lot of benefits. If you're still in office in 3 years Doyle... what will be your excuse then? Please note this is mostly a sarcastic post about the Voter ID problem since I know that people who vote via absentee ballot would not require an ID (which means about 95% of the elderly Doyle claims would have a problem). Also please understand that I still have real significant problems with Real ID. See here and here.
