Carnival of the Badger

Editors Note: Because this post is used as an information page for the Carnival, I've substantially rewritten it for clarity and better information. The original text is now gone... very unbloglike I know... so forgive me

The Carnival of the Badger is a weekly blog carnival featuring bloggers from all around Wisconsin. It is a non-partisan blog, and is open to anyone from Wisconsin, or with posts about Wisconsin. You are welcome to submit posts on any topic, from politics, to sports, to current events, or anything else. However, the more regional topics are better for this carnival, as we're trying to keep it about Wisconsin. If you're unfamiliar with what a carnival is, you can see an example here (the 1st Edition of the Carnival of the Badger).

The Carnival will be posted at the host site every Thursday, and submissions are due Wednesday, preferably before 7 PM Central Time. This is to allow the host to have plenty of time to put everything together, as it is a lot of work. If you're late submitting, its purely at the discretion of the host whether to include you or not.

If you'd like to submit a post from the past week (or further back if its still relevant), there are many ways you can do it:
With so many options, how can you not participate?

If you'd like to host a future edition of the Carnival of the Badger, then you can either leave a comment on this post, or you can email me using the link on the right side of the page. Please be sure to include the following information:
  • Your name

  • Your blog url

  • An email address where I can contact you. A lot of people forget to include this, and its often not posted on your blogs. I have to have an email so I know where to forward submissions, and so I can arrange the dates, etc.
Hosting is a great way to draw traffic to your site, and will let others discover your blog. Not only that, but its just plain fun! I have a running list of all past and future hosts below, so you can see which dates are available.

Comments:

This sounds like a lot of fun!

I have never been part of a Carnival before, but one for the Badger State sounds like the one to start with :)

One question...What do I do? (Like I said, I have never done this before) Do I just submit one of my posts from the past week or something specific for the Carnival?

Help us Carnival rookies out :)

For all you carnival rookies out there, you generally send in a link to a post that you've written from the past week, though you can certainly write something specificly to include in the carnival.

The Carnival host then collects up all the links and posts them on their blog with a brief summary of the post to get people to head over to your blog and read it.

It's for the link whore in all of us.
