What's in a NameI'm not sure why this bothers me as much as it does. My name is my name... it's part of my identity. Now then, I understand that it's not exactly the easiest name in the world to pronounce or spell. But then again, it is somewhat famous. And this is Wisconsin, where there are lot's of German names around. So I guess I was a little surprised when I got to my client site, and found that they had misspelled my name in my email address (Nick.Scheitzer@...). I guess it wouldn't have bothered me so much, except without the w, it sounds like I'm a crooked lawyer. So I emailed IT and got it changed before people got too used to the misspelling. No harm done. That was a couple weeks ago now. When I got here, there was no name plate on my cube wall, so I just stuck a Post-It note up there with my name (spelled correctly I might add) until they got my name plate. So wasn't I surprised when I got to work today and found a new name plate... with my name misspelled... a different way! They spelled it Sweitzer (no ch this time). At least they remembered the w this time. *Sigh*
