Lance AttackI watched Stage 13 of the Le Tour this morning. Lance kicked some butt. It's just amazing to watch this guy. First of all, his team is just fantastic. Where most of the first rate guys had only 1 or 2 team members with them going up the mountain helping pace them, Lance had 4 with him. For quite a while, two riders where ahead of Lance's pack by several minutes, but by the end of the stage, they had been caught. Now Lance and one of his team mates, along with yesterday's stage winner Basso just went. Finally Lance and Basso just took off. Watching those two haul up the mountain onto the plateau was amazing. You watch Lance's face and it's just like stone. While every other rider has this pained look on his face, Lance looks like he's going on cruise control. Finally, when in site of the finish, Lance just looked at Basso and was gone. He decided to win, and won. That simple. On a side note, American fans in France right now are psycho and giving us a bad name. I watched some nut case with a huge American flag running along side Lance, and actually ran into another fan while doing it. Had he fallen, and that huge flag fall across the road, Lance would have been in a crash and totally changed the race. Grow up guys.
