How Old Is a Classic?

In the last couple of weeks I've happened to be scanning through the channels and saw what was on AMC (American Movie Classics) on cable. A couple weeks ago they happened to be showing Office Space. Hold on Nick. Office Space? How old is that movie? Well I'm glad you asked. It was made in 1999. That's right. It's only 6 years old. I don't think anything makes you feel older then seeing that one of your favorite movies is on AMC.

Most recently I happened to notice that they were showing another one of my favorite movies... Clear and Present Danger. Compared to Office Space, this one is ancient... it was made in 1994. My favorite quote by the way:

Do you have him?
He had lunch here sir.
A Quarter Pounder... with cheese.

Is it just me... or isn't a "classic" supposed to be older than this? I'm only 26 for God's sake! My favorite movies can't be classics yet!
