Happy Birthday

Here is an interesting tidbit of random information. The Happy Birthday song is not in the public domain. That's why you don't hear it on TV, or radio... because then they'd have to cut a check to Summy-Birchard Music, a division of AOL Time Warner. Apparently royalties for the song bring in an estimated $2 million annually.

With that, I'd like to welcome to the world my newest nephew (number 3 overall) Brandon Rojerio. He is my oldest sister Janet's first. He is 7 1/2 lbs, and 19 inches, and will I'm sure be reminded for a long time to come that he was born via C-Section causing much pain and anguish after jumping around so many times that the doctor's didn't know which way he was pointing any more. Hell, Janet still reminds me how much of a pain I was to give birth to, and she didn't even have to do it. Anyway, everyone is doing well. I'll post pictures when I get some.

Comments:

Several years ago, when the song was in the hands of Michael Jackson, he sent a letter to all of the restaurant chains (which used to sing the song to customers on their birthdays) demanding that they cease or pay royalties. That is why, in the mid nineties, every major chain created its own version of the song.

Congrats, by the way.
