I was in Starbucks yesterday morning (attempting to start writing a new book), when another gentleman walked in who grabbed my attention for a moment. He had a rather small Compaq laptop (with a tiny screen)... but the thing that grabbed my attention was the beret he wore. Do men wear berets in America? As I looked closer, I realized he was also wearing a tweed sports coat, a blue sweater, and later stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. If his jacket had leather elbow patches, I would say he was probably a college professor. He didn't have a French accent... so that blows my theory that the only men who wear berets are French. Who else would wear such things?
