USC Instead of Texas?! Investigate! 

Let's see. First it was steroids in baseball, and nobody complained too much. Then less than a week ago we find out that they want to investigate contract disputes between Philly and T.O. Now they want to investigate the BCS.

Calling the Bowl Championship Series "deeply flawed," the chairman of a congressional committee has called a hearing on the controversial system used to determine college football's national champion.

A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, charged with regulating America's sports industry, announced Friday it will conduct a hearing on the BCS next week, after this season's bowl matchups are determined.

"College football is not just an exhilarating sport, but a billion-dollar business that Congress cannot ignore," said committee Chairman Joe Barton, a Texas Republican. Barton's panel is separate from the House Government Reform panel that tackled steroids in baseball.

H/T to The Agitator. Let's just take a look at the BCS Rankings shall we? Right now, USC is sitting at #1, and Texas at #2. And look, the chairman of the committee is from... you guessed it... Texas! No conflict there.

Could someone please explain to me what doesn't fall within the purview of government these days? Is there anything they won't try to investigate or legislate? Anything? At this point, I'm almost willing to agree with George Roper and say, vote them all out... but I have a hard time being extreme. Instead... I suggest this. Don't vote for anyone who has served more than two terms in office. If that means I vote to replace Sensenbrenner with a lefty Democrat, than so be it. At this point, Congress's sense of entitlement has gone to God damn far.
