Aruba Asks Citizens to Avoid Alabama

Following in the wake of this news from the Alabama House:

The Alabama House passed a resolution Friday asking Alabama residents to boycott travel to Aruba, where a teenager has been missing for more than seven weeks.

The resolution expresses concern that no one has been charged in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway of Mountain Brook, Ala.

The parliament in Aruba has passed a similar resolution asking residents to stop traveling to Alabama. The Prime Mister of Aruba made the following statement:

After much investigation, it has come to our attention that Alabama is far too dangerous of a state, with an inept group police departments. We have found many instances of unsolved homicides statewide, some going back several years. Until all of these criminals are brought to justice, and all the families of Alabama who have suffered are given peace, we cannot in good conscious recommend Alabama as a safe place for Aruban citizens to travel.

Understandably not all of these unsolved crimes involve young white girls that people like Bill O'Reilly can't seem to get enough of, but that doesn't make their families grieve any less. The people of Aruba stand with all of you.

When asked how long his investigation into unsolved Alabama homicides had taken, the Prime Minister said about 2 minutes on Google returned several websites for Crime Stopper organizations in Alabama with such lists.
