It's Called the Entertainment IndustryOliver Stone blames 'moral fundamentalism' for US box office flop:
Of course he ignores the fact that the movie's acting and directing were widely criticized as poor. But let's go beyond that for now. Oliver, you seem to be suggesting that people should have gone to the movie anyway. It was reviewed poorly, and covered a subject matter that a lot of people don't like, but they should have sat through an incredibly long movie and paid you your money despite all that right? Look Oliver, I'm all for you making movies. Be my guest. Hell, you've made some great movies before. Platoon? Very powerful. But just because you make it doesn't mean we have to watch it. When you fork out the money for production, you're taking a risk, and we don't have to cover it for you. So don't bitch at us for not going to see your movie. Take a look in the mirror, and ask yourself why you made a movie that few people wanted to see. People are paying to be entertained remember? Apparently you're not doing that anymore.
