Desperate for Statistics

I'm watching the Packers vs. Redskins right now. Before the game started, while the commentators are looking for something interesting to say, they popped up a statistic. For the last 17 elections in a row, when the Redskins win the game before the election, the incumbent wins. When they lose, the challenger wins. So there you have it. No need to wait until Tuesday night... we'll know who will be President based on today's football game.

While I find these statistics interesting in a... wow what a coincidence way... does anyone actually think one thing has to do with the other? In a way it goes to show you the power of computers. When you have enough data loaded in a computer, you can crunch the numbers until you find something very interesting.
