Why Hillary Won't Be President

It's still 3 years away, but of course the talk of a Hillary run is getting louder than ever. In preparation for her run, she's making herself over to be a "moderate" Democrat... trying to look like her husband apparently did. In that vein, we have this news from the LA Times (H/T to Daily Pundit):

The Democratic Leadership Council, an organization of influential party moderates, named Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton today to direct a new initiative to define a party agenda for the 2006 and 2008 elections.

The appointment solidified the identification of Clinton, once considered a champion of the party's left, with the centrist movement that helped propel her husband to the White House in 1992. It also continued her effort, which has accelerated in recent months, to present herself as a moderate on issues such as national security, immigration and abortion.

Here's my prediction. It won't happen. Why? Mother's won't vote for her. But Nick, we've heard that theory before. True, but my reasoning is different. Most people say she won't get the "Mother Vote" because they can't forgive her for forgiving Bill. While that might be part of it, I think there is another reason. It struck me while I was listening to the radio on my way to work.

Many girls say when they're young... I want to be the first woman president when I grow up mommy! I think that deep down a lot of mothers won't vote for her because they want their daughter to be first, not someone like Hillary. They look at Hillary, then look down at their beautiful daughter and say, No way. My little girl would be a much better first woman president then her.

Comments:

Oh how I wish it were true... unfortunately, I think she's going to run and win unless the RNC can pull an elephant out of its *** and find someone who is a match for her.

PS I do everything I can to encourage my daughters away from politics. (I just don't forbid them, because we all know where that leads ;) )
