Random Stuff 

Couple random things...

1. Last night I got the bulk of the remaining parts via UPS for my Media Convergence Project. I'm still trying to think up a really cool name for it, so if you have any ideas, leave a comment. Just for reference, all of the computers on my network have names of characters or gods from Greek mythology. Bonus points for a project name which matches the theme. Anyway, the only thing left on my list that's yet to arrive is the Hauppauge video capture card (it's on back order). All the other parts seem to fit well in the case. It's a very tight package though, and I'll actually have to take it all apart again tonight and do some rework because you really need to put thing together in the case in a particular order so you can access all the mount points for everything. That, and I need a couple cables. It's always something.

2. On my way to work this morning I was behind a van for the Greater Milwaukee Electric Company. In the back window of the van was a sticker that said:

Notice
This person may start working at any time

Must be a union job.

Update: Just got notification that the video capture card shipped. Unfortunately it was shipped from Texas. One of the reasons I like Buy.com so much is that they have a warehouse in Northern Illinois. So I can pay for the cheapest ground shipping they have, and still usually get stuff next day. I guess I have a couple of days to wait for this one. Oh well.
